How are the common aluminum alloy surfaces processed?

In particular, apple, Samsung, Meizu, Xiaomi, Huawei and so on have made great efforts in the use of materials and processing technology in the competition of mobile phone design in recent years. Aluminum because of its easy processing, good visual effect, the surface treatment method is rich, the first adopted by each manufacturer, aluminum surface treatment is mainly divided into: sandblasting (form the pearl matte silver surface), polishing formation (mirror), drawing (form like satin effect), electroplating a layer of other metal (cover), spray other non-metallic coating (cover).


1. Sandblast

Sandblasting is powered by compressed air to form a high-speed jet beam to spray materials (copper ore, quartz sand, emery, iron sand, sea sand) at high speed to the surface of the workpiece to be processed, so that the appearance or shape of the workpiece surface changes.

Sandblasting has a strong application in engineering and surface technology, such as: improve the viscosity of adhesive parts, decontamination, optimization of machined surface burr, surface matte treatment.

The sandblasting process is more uniform and efficient than hand grinding, and the stainless steel treatment of this method creates a low-key, durable character.


2. The polishing

Polishing process is mainly divided into: mechanical polishing, chemical polishing, electrolytic polishing.

3. The drawing

Metal wire drawing is a manufacturing process in which aluminum sheets are repeatedly sanded out of the wire. Drawing can be divided into straight line drawing, random drawing, spiral drawing, thread drawing.

4. High light cutting

The diamond cutter is reinforced by the fine carving machine in the high speed rotation (general speed of 20000 RPM) on the spindle of the fine carving machine to cut parts, resulting in a local highlighting area on the surface of the product. 5. Anodic oxidation

6. Dual color anodic oxidation

Two-color anodizing refers to anodizing a product and giving specific areas different colors.

Double-color anodic oxidation has high cost because of its complex process. But through the contrast between the two colors, more can reflect the high-end, unique appearance of the product.
